I have very mixed feelings about this.
These are clearly not legislative duties at all.
But a valid a question arises. What percentage of the cost of all these is from her official takings as a senator, including the “constituency allowance”? Even if it’s only 50% (and the rest is from her personal funds), then there’s a lot of questions to ask about what other legislators are doing with their own “takings” …
Neither do I think we should ever be in the backwardness of expecting such “empowerment” from legislators. It’s extra-constitutional.
We can view this “backwardness” though, as half bread, which is always better than none.
