  1. I think it is basically a computer-based assessment / type of exam that is timed or time-based; that is, programmed to expire or go off after some minutes.
  2. It could require students taking such exams online real-time in their class rooms.
  3. In addition, questions may differ for each student and in some cases where the questions are the same, then the numbering is done in such a way that candidate A’s number 1 question may appear as candidate B’s number 20 question.
  4. That way, there won’t be time for exam malpractices; as in time for students to be exchanging notes on their questions because each question you provide answer to instantly closes.

  1. For videos and audios, I think one should first take them to evernote, and them come here and create a post under News+ and then provide their link to evernote.
  2. In addition, and depending on their content, some of the videos could be put into our Dropbox and their links also put here under a topic that such a person would have created under the category News+.
  3. And finally, the person must tag such a post very well.

You’ve misunderstood me.
I’m talking in the context of the News+ category in Discourse. Of the fact that I just put a link to Evernote. That that isn’t enough on an ongoing basis. What more must we do?

Aside putting the link to the saved video in Evernote or Dropbox, the video itself could be uploaded here. So that one could watch the video without leaving here (Discourse).

In addition to the above, the content itself should be uploaded here.

It will be hard to draw a clear line between what and what-not to put into Dropbox, since the person deemed it important enough to send it to Discourse. I think all videos, audios or pictures should be uploaded into Evernote first then after looking at it here on discourse we can then decide to move it into Dropbox or not. Evernote is like the home for all our reference materials, no content within the WM can not be found in Evernote, after consideration we can then move such content into Dropbox or even WRITE.

Dropbox is more ideal sir, in my thinking.
At the moment it houses all our videos.
We can later proceed to posting the link here.

I think it would be more of duplicating the video. Clicking on the link already takes the user from Discourse to where the video is.

Can our software friends (external people) access our Evernote or Dropbox?

They can be granted access.

I think daddy only shared the public folder (Dropbox) with the process team and Tolu alone, these are the only people that can upload videos there and do other stuff, however everybody else can view only.
To me Dropbox should be where all videos should be and the link can be pasted here.

If this is true.
Then it is okay to just upload it on Dropbox and not here on Discourse, that if we agree to upload all our videos to Dropbox not Evernote.

I think the rules should run along these lines.

  1. Videos should be either in Dropbox or Evernote, preferably not in both.

  2. Discourse should contain a link to the video. This has five key advantages.

  3. One. Our multimedia are available to us outside Discourse, so all our eggs are not in one basket.

  4. Two. We can see a count of how many times each medium has been VIEWED. This is extremely valuable information.

  5. Three. All discussions by all persons take place in only one place, Discourse, no matter where the media lives.

  6. Four. We’re saved from the distractions of YouTube adverts that take people away into other worlds. Both Dropbox and Evernote are totally within our own world.

  7. Five. We keep our Discourse database size small and manageable, in preparation for possible future self hosting.

  8. In some cases, especially very small clips of less than one minute, we might as well put a copy inside Discourse. But this will deny is of the benefit of the views count. We should probably never do this.

  9. I think Software people have confirmed to us that they can save videos into Dropbox? @Akachi please confirm by hyperlink here to where they did, or confirm verbally from them.

  10. We should probably have a separate video folder for software videos, limited only to our software staff, and definitely not available to the public.

I’ll probably do that. Prod me.

Discourse doesn’t accept videos to be attached directly sir.
