*Minister of Finance in the Second Republic, Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji, said yesterday the International Monetary Fund, IMF, borrowed money from Nigeria in 1974.*

COMMENTS.
*Many nations came to borrow money from Nigeria in the 70s.*
*Some others were gifted money by Nigeria including UAE and Trinidad and Tobago.*

*In the 80s when we visited Trinidad and Tobago, we were worshipped like gods because we rescued that nation from bankruptcy.*
*Seventy kobo was exchanging for $1 in the 70s.*

*Fortunately, we still have gargantuan human talents and natural endowments. But our leaders have lilliputian brainpower and crooked values. Until we deliberately recruit personalities with commensurate vision, values, excellent managerial competencies, integrity, character coupled with leapfrogging technologies compliant mindset, we will wander and perish hopelessly in our wilderness.*

*We cannot grow beyond the leaders we permit to lead us. The choice to choose the right leaders is in our hands.*
