Gravitas Plus: India's $1.2 trillion plan to grab factories from China

There’s a lot for Nigeria to learn from, in this.
The Presidential Enabling Business Council for example already started commendable steps in the right direction.

However, a lot more complementary actions need to be taken, especially because many other indices are actually in the reverse gear.

We’re massively de industrialising.
Lacking basic levels of foreign exchange for the minimum foreign components needed.
Workforce lacking globally relevant skills except maybe in IT.
Insecurity worse than in many countries that are at war.
Policy somersaults between succeeding governments controlled by even the same political party. Etc

We can’t turn the corner with isolated successes by a few public agencies. Coordination, synergies, consistency and continuity are very essential but we’re doing very badly on these.

With our eyes on the goal of an industrialised country with global capital and supply chains, we need to aim for more. We should. Hopefully, we will.
