Dear Sirs and Mas,

I thank you very much for the congratulatory messages.

ODA was visibly represented by 2 of our members-

Olu Akanmu, CEO of Opay, a 4 year old global fintech company now valued at over one billion dollars and still growing;

and

Patrick Akinwuntan, immediate past CEO of Ecobank. Patrick ensured Ecobank was the first organization to join the Fintech Association of Nigeria when I conceived the idea in April 2017. Today the Association has over 200 corporate members including virtually all the banks, various renowned fintech, bigtech cos, the top 4 global consulting firms (KPMG, PwC, EY, Deloitte) and global institutions such as Facebook, Mastercard etc.

The Nigeria fintech business brought in foreign direct investment of $1.3billion (about N800 billion) in 2021, more than the cumulative total of investments to that sector in previous 5 years. The contribution of ICT sector (which fintech is part of) to Nigeria's GDP has grown from about 2% about 10 years ago to over 17%.

The future of banking and financial services is fintech (coined from financial technology)....reason why banks now want to think like fintechs and most setting up fintech subsidiaries....eProcess by Ecobank, ALAT by Wema, Squad by GTB etc.

At the Fintech Association of Nigeria Awards today where a Grand Award was given to Dr Segun Aina for his pioneering Fintech work in Nigeria as Founder and 1st President of Fintech Association of Nigeria.

With our Chairman, the Founder Award winner at the Fintech Platinum Awards.
